30 for 30 - Day 20

Day 20 of 30 and I only have 10 days to go!  I think out of all the rules I have lived by throughout this challenge, I am looking forward to wearing different clothing items and shoes ompared to shopping at the end of this challenge.  I'm sure it partly has to do with the fact that I am unemployed!  Today I went to Coal Harbor to visit my mom for a costco trip.  Does anyone else let their costco card exprire and then just get a new one with the promotions they offer at the door.  I always let mine expire as they never offer anything good to renew it, compared to a 20$ certificate for people that sign up for a new one.

I got my mom to take a few pictures outside her highrise.  I'm remixing from my 30 an IN2U tank, Almost Famous skinnies, and my Pro-Keds bubblegum sneakers.  I accessorized with my Neon Punk sunglasses, which I have noticed I have been wearing a lot lately.  I actually own 10 pairs of sunglasses, so I should start paying attention to the others.  I'm also wearing a wristband I got at the carribean festival with the lion of Judah.

30 for 30 - Day 19

Day 19 of 30 and it's even hotter!  So hot that I only have 1 picture with an item from my 30!  I know, I know.. but trust me I was wearing my teal Fred David tee, but it was just to hot at the beach.  For Day 19 I was in need of some quality time with my friend Basia, but she had allready made plans to go to Wreck Beach with her friend Emily.  I had never ever been to Wreck Beach before so I decided to join, and had no idea what to expect.  Would it be a bunch of nudists, would it get creepy, and I hope I dont see anyone I know naked were all going through my mind on the car drive over.  We got to the beach and had to walk a good amount of stairs downhill carrying our mini bbq.  As we started smelling the ocean, we could hear a bunch of bongo drums, so I was getting ready for some free spirits.

As we got to the beach I think about only 15% of the people were fully naked, and an additional 10% of ladies were topless.  We found an area by a log to set up our bbq and watch the sunset.  Basia's friend Emily seemed to know a lot of people there as she was a regular, and thankfully everyone that came over to say hi were not naked.  I dont think I would be able to shake hands with a random naked person, let alone hug a naked person I knew.  Another thing I realized, is that there are a lot of people that do mushrooms down there.  I would never touch that stuff, yet we had several people come up to us and ask us if we needed anything.  It creeped me out, as I realized it would take paramedics forever to get down there because of the stairwell if anything ever happened.  Just another reason to not do drugs.

So once we were waiting on our bbq chicken and soaking up the last of the sun, we took a few pictures.  I'm so glad swimwear is not included in 30 items!  I'm remixing my Sweet Vibes capri's and my bikini is by Body Glove.  I didn't want to really add accessories, as I am getting way too many tanlines and needed to smooth them out, so I only wore my Neon Punk sunglasses.

The sunset was amazing by the way, and everyone at the beach seemed to howl at the sunset which I have never experienced before.  On another note the one picture I have with my capris on, some random guy took it who obviously does not knwo how to take pictures... and also his friend managed to creep into the background.  UGH!  We never asked for a retake as we just wanted them gone..

30 for 30 - Day 18

Day 18 of 30 and it's hot hot hot!  I was spending the day down in Coal Harbor - my 2nd home, but also popped by broadway for a quick visit with a friend.  I noticed that they were having a sand castle competition which was pretty cool, so I took a picture of one of the sand castles by the convention center.  I guess the "2" fell apart in the 2010, but it's still an awesome castle!  Makes me wonder if they still have the competitions down at Spanish Banks.  My brother and I used to enter in the sand castle competitions down there when we were younger.. and I used to barry him underneath the sand :)... ahhh childhood memories.

So after a walk down by waterfront I headed over to broadway to visit a friend realizing I never took any outfit pictures in Coal Harbor, so I got her to snag some photos of me on her balcony.

I'm remixing from my 30 an Ultra Pink graffiti dress that I wore as a shirt on Day 15.  I love this dress as it's so light and perfect for this weather!  I'm also remixing my black Tommy Hilfiger flats, and accessorizing with a pair of RocaWear sunglasses, H&M earings, and a belt from Buffalo.

I hardly wear makeup in the summer as I am constantly wanting to wash my face all day, so hence I have been taking a lot of pictures with sunglasses!

30 for 30 - Day 17

Day 17 of 30 and it's firework night!!!!  I've always been that hopeless romantic that loves walks on the beach, and fireworks at night.. so when the fireworks come around - that makes me want to walk along the beach, or seawall in this case before hand.  It was a beautiful day as it has been lately, and I started my walk along the seawall around 7, and figured I'd find a good spot around 2nd beach or so to catch the fireworks where it's a bit less crowded.

For my stroll I remixed my Blu Heaven tee, Garage white capris and Impo floral heels.  I just wanted a more casual look today for my stroll, so I didn't accessorize too much.  I wore my Neon Punk glasses, a few bracelets from Ardene, a butterfly brooch from my granny, and a gifted necklace.

It was a perfect day to take pictures, and I ended up at an amazing spot to catch the fireworks with hardly any crowd and a great view.  I also included some pictures of the fireworks and seawall sunset.

30 for 30 - Day 16

Day 16 of 30 and onto the final phase.  I was hanging out in Coal harbor, and took a few photos from my moms balcony.  It's a pretty small balcony, but you can't complain when you live on the 17th floor and you can see the lost lagoon fountain, mountains in West Vancouver, and all of the boats parked in Coal Harbor... plus how awesome is it to watch planes take off and land on water all day.. or kayaks pass by on a regular basis!

I finally decided to break out my Ellie Tahari dress, an amazing deal I got at Winners!  I think this dress retails for around $280 and I only spent $32 on it!!  I'm remixing a pair of Impo floral heels, and accessorizing with a H&M purple bracelet, and a blue bracelet, necklace and earings from Ardene.  I'm also wearing 2 rings I borrowed from my mom for the day.

Coal Harbor is my 2nd home for sure, and I'm sure there will be more photoshoots from here to come!

30 for 30 - Midpoint Recap

Incase you haven't been following or just wanted to see the looks alltogether - Here are day 1-15 looks.  15 more to go!  For better quality and larger pictures on the individual posts - check it out here.

Let me know what your favorite looks were, and for anyone doing this 30 for 30 challenge, what you loved and hated about your first 15 days!

30 for 30 - Day 15

Day 15 and I made the halfway mark!!!  I can't wait to start the final phase of this challenge!  Today we actually had free tickets to the Vancouver WhiteCaps vs Portland game at Swangard Stadium our friend Kevin gave us.  As our tickets were free, we were sitting in section F row 20 and had a pretty good view, but at half time we decided to go sit on the other side of the stadium which were right on the ground bleachers.  It was a great view, and we even had 2 of the Portland players performing a weird dance like workout right in front of us the whole time.  Vancouver got a red card early into the 2nd half, so we were a man down - and ended up losing 2-1, but it was still a fun game and I am totally buying tix when NY comes so I can see World Cup player Thiery Henry!!!

As far as my outfit went today I remixed my Almost Famous skinnies, Tommy Hilfiger flats & my Zinc blazer.  I also added my Ultra Pink graffiti dress from Winners, but I tucked it into my jeans to make a shirt for this look.  I have never worn this dress as a shirt before, and I actually liked the way the look came out.  I have this dress in another color also, so when this challenge is done I will try that one out also!  For my accessories I wore a heart and key necklace, a belt I have had since '99, and my Michael Antonio canvas tote.

30 for 30 - Day 14

Day 14 for 30 and 1 more push until I'm at the halfway mark!  This post will also include my trip to the Cheshire Cheese at Lonsdale Quay.  I actually had quite a few errands to run around downtown Vancouver throughout the day, & ended up meeting my mom after she got off work at 3pm for some tanning down at Waterfront Park (where the Carribean festival happens) before we headed over to the Cheshire Cheese for an early dinner.  I loved going to tan at the park as there were only 2 other people tanning there!  Usually I'll go tan by my pool or Jericho beach, so this was a great new spot to find!

We headed over to the Cheshire Cheese around 4pm and opted to sit on their patio.  My mom had a strongbow and I had a cesaer extra spicey.  We had an entertainment 2 for 1 coupon to use, and my mom ordered the Black Tiger Prawns - pan fried in butter, garlic and white wine with basmati rice and seasonal veggies for $16.95.  It looked really good but for some reason the veggies made me think of something that was steamed from a frozen bag?  I don't know but usually the look more fresher, or have some sort of char to them.

I ordered the Mediterranean Seafood Cioppino - tiger prawns, scallops, cod, & mussels simmered in white wine, tomatoes & peppers, served with baquette also $16.95.  This was pretty good as I was wanting something healthy.  I think the mussels didn't really absorb the flavor, and the scallops were slightly overcooked, but the prawns and cod were cooked perfect.  The bell peppers were a great addition.  I didn't take a picture of the baquette, but it was 4 slices of white baquette that was quite fresh and moist.  I didn't really care for the bread to much as I wasn't feeling like carbs, but overall I would get this dish again.

I then headed back over to Burnaby to meet up with the paroz.  I was excited to wear one of the newer items I had added to my 30, and I chose a pair of white capri pants from Garage.  I also remixed my Antistar tee and BCBG hoodie from Winners, followed with a pair of bubblegum Pro-Ked sneakers.  For my accessories I wore my Neon Punk sunglasses & a necklace from Ardene, and I also carried my Goats on the Roof Canvas tote I bought when I was visiting Tofino last fall.  I love Goats on the Roof!  If you are travelling to Tofino, make sure you stop by there to pick up groceries or grab a bite to eat and admire the Goats that live on the roof!

30 for 30 - Day 13

Day 13 had come and I was going through my unworn items, and I realized I had accidentally selected 32 items compared to 30!  I had so many items I hadn't even worn yet, so I removed 2 items right away.  I also decided that I would swap 5 unworn items for 5 new, as when I originally selected my 30 I didn't think it would be this warm.  Since there really is no rule that you can't swap, and I figured as long as I haven't worn them, that I could get away with it!  You can find the 2 items I removed to make 30, and also the 5 I swaped out for 5 new ones here!

So onto Day 13!  Now that I added a few new items I decided to break into a floral skirt from H&M.  I had originally only selected 2 skirts, so I was really glad I had a new one I could remix!  I love this skirt, and I actually got it on clearance for only 7$ I think.  H&M is great about cheap clearance items for sure.  I had also been wanting to remix my Michael Kors shirt that I wore on Day 1 of this challenge, so I opted to remix it with my H&M skirt.  I'm also wearing my white Tommy Hilfiger slip on heels.

I kept this look simple with accessories, so I added 2 diamond bracelets from my Grandma, and a small flower hair clip from Ardene.

30 for 30 - Stephanie needs to learn how to count!!

Ok - so I just realized I accidentally selected 32 items for my 30 for 30 challenge.  I am going to omit 2 items I haven't worn yet right now!

I'm going to remove my Love Notes Skinny Jeans, and my yellow cardigan!!

I'm also going to swap a few items, for some that I haven't worn yet.. no rule saying we can't and since I haven't worn them... It's fair game!

These are the items I am removing

These are the items I am adding!  Yay!

Skirt from H&M, blue dress from Bryan's, BeBop green dress from Winners, Ultra Pink graffiti dress from Winners & white capris from Garage

Looking forward to making outfits out of these as the weather is so nice!

30 for 30 - Day 12

Day 12 of 30 and almost at the half way mark!  I seriously think anyone who makes it to day 30 without repeating an outfit is amazing!
Today I remixed my Lapis floral skirt & Fred David tee.  I think this is actually the 3rd time I have remixed this skirt in less than 2 weeks!  Deffinately means I should have selected more skirts/shorts and picked less blazers/jeans.  I also remixed my Impo floral heals and accessorized with a butterfly brooch my Granny gave me, and a pair of gifted earings.  I'm also wearing my Neon Punk sunglasses.  One of my tattoos "Ned" is also makin an appearance :)

30 for 30 - Day 11

Day 11 of 30 and off to Gibsons I go!  I always love going to Gibsons because it means I get to visit my awesome grandparents!!  I was actually off to Gibsons on Day 1 of my challenge, when my brother was in town visiting.. and today was an extra special trip as it was my grandmas 78th birthday, and also my grandparents 55th anniversary!!

I headed off to Gibsons, and I got to see my aunt, uncle and cousin, as well as my grandmas sister and her husband, and 2 of their kids and spouse..  A lot of my family lives in Gibsons, so it's always great when I get to visit them - it's like a small family reunion!  Also it's one of the only places I know where you can live right on the beach in a beautiful 3 bedroom house for only 500,000!  You can't do that in Vancouver for sure.

So today I remixed my Almost Famous skinnies, which I am still rolling up as it's too warm for pants - and I also remixed my Tommy Hilfiger animal print heels.  I also selected from my 30 an Argona animal print top from Winners, and my accessories are a fedora from Winners, Betsey Johnson glasses, some random bracelets from Ardene, and a BCBG purse.  This BCBG purse was actually my best boxing day find from 2009, where yesterday I had my Polo glasses that were my 2008 deal.  I forget the retail price, but it only cost me $7.80!  Well with a $25 gift card, but still only $7.80 from my own pocket for a BCBG patent leather boho bag.

I had to take off my fedora on the ferry as it was crazy windy and my hair was flying all over the place.
I also included a pictuire of my Grandpa and his 2 new best friends - Enzo and Angus, & my Grandma getting her birthday cake!  Isn't she so cute!!!

30 for 30 - Day 10

Day 10 of 30 and 1/3rd til the end!  Today I was in need of a basketball fix.. so I decided I needed to remix an outfit that can accomodate my pink pro-keds.  If I could go back 11 days ago, I think I would have picked a different pair of sneakers as I have almost nothing to match them with in the 30 I selected.. I should have been more careful!  But when I have over 70 pairs of shoes staring me in my face, it gets really hard to be selective.  Anyways finally the pro-keds are unleashed in my 30, and I got to play some hoops!

If you didn't allready know, I have played basketball since grade 6, and even when I was in high school, grade 9 to be exact.. my team ranked #4 in all of the lower mainland, so I am pretty good!  I'm a shooting forward, and most of the time my 3's go in.  I have to admit I am a bit rusty on my dribble after not frequently playing anymore, but I still got a wicked shot.

So I needed a basketball playing outfit from my 30, so I remixed my Antistar tee, and Foxy jean capris, and added for the first time my BCBG hoodie.  I'm thinking I should have selected more capris for my 30, as I have only worn one of my jeans I selected so far, and ended up rolling up the cuffs as it's so warm out!  I also wore my bubblegum pro-keds, which I love so much!  My accessories I added were my Polo sunglasses.  These glasses I actually bought at Winners 2 boxing days ago, which are $220 retail, but I scored at Winners for $18!!!  Talk about a fab find.  Winners is my go-to store for sure, and when this 30 day shopping ban is up - that's where you will find me!  I'm also wearing a necklace I got from a vendor on Venice beach in Cali, and a pair of earings from Ardene.

30 for 30 - Day 9

Day of of 30 - Day 2 of week 2!  So aside from my shoes I wore, a pair of pink Tommy Hilfiger flats - I also remixed my Almost Famous skinnies, and I selected for the first time my B'Leev black top and a Zinc blazer.  I was really unsure if I shoudl wear a blazer today because it was all cloudy in the morning, but it was still really humid, so I decided on my Zinc one as it is a bit more breezy.  I thought about wearing it done up, but by the time I was out and about - travelling to coquitlam from burnaby, I realized I shouldn't have worn a blazer so left it undone.  At least I get points for trying to get in my warmer choices from my 30 before the 30 days are up!  I'm just wondering if I will manage to get them all in.

The accessories I added were a sequin belt I got in Vegas, a purse from Winners, bracelet from H&M and earings from Ardene.

Trading Season begins in the NBA

Ok so I realized it's about due time I have a basketball post on here.. I mean I think out of every woman I know, no one is as knowledgeable as I am about the NBA or NCAA basketball like me.. and I have been meaning to start blogging about basketball.. so before the season starts up, I figured I'd get this rolling...

To start it off I would like to congratulate my NCAA team Duke, on their championship, and Boston Celtics for making it to the NBA finals.  They didn't win, but at the same time they didn't have their full starting line-up playing.. so I think they did great for what they were given.. aside from a really bad night from Ray Allen...

Anyways onto the 10/11 season.  Everyone knows I can't stand the Toronto Raptors and it really annoys me with how many people in Vancouver cheer for them.  I don't watch hockey, but I'm sure all these vancouverites don't cheer for the Maple Leafs, and I'm sure the BC Lions fans don't cheer for the Toronto football team... so why do they have to cheer for the Raptors just becuase they are canadian.  If Vancouver happens to get another NBA team, are they still going to be patriotic to Toronto - doubt it... and Toronto is no where close to Vancouver.. I think I would understand more if they were cheering for Portland due to proximity.

Well the trading season has begun and let me say I am one of the few that is really rejoicing over the fact that both Chris Bosh and LeBron James got traded!  YAYYYYYYYYYYY!  It would make me so happy to see Toronto suck even more, and I literally can't stand Mike Brown, and if LeBron James is to get a ring, I'm glad it won't be with Mike Brown.  I really don't care about the Miami Heat.. Orlando is my Florida team - Hey Dwight! - but I am just so glad this trading season is starting off on a positive note!  Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Rasheed & Garnett will still be on the same team.

I'm also wondering if Finley is still going to be around.. I think he is the oldest man on the court these days.. and he got some rings.. so time for him to step down!

For all the rookie's coming in, I'm excited to see DaMarcus Cousins play the most.  Stephen Curry was my fav Rookie last season, and I think he's going to do big things like Rondo did quickly.. and I can't wait to watch Cousins get into foul trouble.

On a final note.. I just read Penny Hardaway is wanting to come back to the NBA and join the heat.. ahaha.. he should resign with Orlando if he goes back & give Florida fans some rivalry.. but I think he's way too old.. thats like having Sam Mitchell come back and play.

Who are you guys looking forward to watching, and are you glad with the Bosh/James trade?

30 for 30 - Day 8

Day 8 of 30, and the start of week 2.  I decided to select items I haven't used yet, with the exception of my shoes.  I really was wanting to rock my pro-keds today, but I realized I didn't select too many items that can match those shoes.  I should have selected less vibrant sneakers, but then I love my sneakers to be flashy.  Oh well, I will try to get them in this week!  Today was a relax around the pool, throw the frisbee around kind of day.. the way summer days should be.
I wore a pair of Tommy Hilfiger heels, Sweet Vibes capris & an IN2U tank.  My accessories are a pair of Neon Punk sunglasses, necklace and bracelets from Ardene, wristband purchased from a Carribean festival vendor, and a scarf from Winners.

30 for 30 - Day 7

Day 7 of 30 and the first week is done!  Wow it's exciting finishing the first week and I can't wait to see what new items & recycled items I will mix together for next week!   It was a little cooler today so I recycled a blazer from Day 4, and I also recycled a pair of denim capris from Day 2.  I had a bunch of errands to run around today, so I just kept this look a bit casual.

From my 30 I selected my black Tommy Hilfiger flats, Ecko shirt from the Ecko outlet in Seattle, and also recycled my Zinc blazer & Foxy jean capris from Winners.  For my accessories I added a pair of earings and necklace from Ardene & my grey canvas bag from the World Shoe Association in Las Vegas.

30 for 30 - Day 6

Day 6 of my 30 for 30 Challenge!  I finally decided to recycle an item!  I was really in the mood for wearing a skirt, so I ended up recycling the Lapis floral skirt I wore on Day 1.  Now I really am wondering why I selected so many sweaters and blazers, especially my warmer ones like the mexx and bcbg one as right now I am just really hoping I will get an opportunity to wear them!  I'm thinking I should have selected some more summer dresses and skirts, but what's done is done - and there are still 3 weeks left.. so I'm hoping they will all make an appearance!

I recycled my Lapis floral skirt from Winners, & added my Antistar tee from Winners & a pair of Tommy Hilfiger heels.  My added accessories are a belt from Buffalo, a ring from Winners, a bunch of random bracelets from Ardene, earings from Ardene, RocaWear sunglasses from Winners & a scarf I got as an xmas present from my mom.

30 for 30 - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of 30!  It was actually a bit breezy today, so I was on the verge of adding a blazer but opted against in because my paleness was in need of a tan.  Figured it would be a perfect beach day, so threw on a quick outfit on top of my swimsuit.  As it was a bit breezy I figured I could finally add a pair of pants, but I rolled them up just a bit cause it was still pretty hot out.  I'm wishing I stood in more sun, because the shoes don't really show up here!

Anyways, for day 5 rocked from my 30 selection - animal print Tommy Hilfiger shoes, Almost Famous skinny jeans & a Twin Heart tee.  I added to the mix Betsey Johnson sunglasses, necklace and 2 bracelets from Ardene, and handmade bag from Kenya.

30 for 30 - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of 30!  I was actually thinking I finally needed to add a blazer to the mix - my first regret is that I selected a few too many blazers for this weather & as much as I don't want it to cool down, I'd like a few cooler days just to rock some jackets.  I have to admit I didn't wear the blazer all day, but it was with me and I wore it for at least a few hours.

Selected from my 30 I have Tommy Hilfiger flats, H&M pinstripe skirt, Fred David tee & a Zinc blazer.  I added a Buffalo belt - which I just realized the majority of my belts are from Buffalo for some reason... I also added an Apple Bottoms purse from Winners, necklace and earings from Ardene, and a ring from my Grandma

30 for 30 - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of 30!  I know this should have been up on saturday, but I have been super busy lately.. and tonight I'm catching up on my shows, so I just wanted to take a quick break and upload day 3, and maybe day 4.  I promise we will be caught up by tomorrow!

I've been loving this weather, and there is no reason not to bring out the dresses and skirts!  Especially cute summery prints!  I decided on wearing an Eliza J NY Dress from Winners with a pair of Tommy Hilfiger heels.  I added a Buffalo belt, a scarf from Winners, earings from H&M, necklace is gifted, bracelet from Ardene, and the headband with flower piece was made by my friend Mayira.

30 for 30 - Day 2

Day 2 of the 30 for 30 Challenge.  Ok so I know these pictures are not great at all, but I was all by myself and didnt feel like asking my inlaws to take my picture that evening when I was with them, so I had to resort to trying to take a picture through the mirror.  The humidity was crazy this day, so it was a no makeup/throw my hair back kind of day, but I added a few things anyway.

Foxy Jean capris, Blu Heaven top, Tommy Hilfiger flats, and I added a bracelet from H&M, 2 necklaces from Ardene, and Betsey Johnson sunglasses

30 for 30 - Day 1

Day 1 of the 30 for 30 Challenge.  I actually was heading to Gibsons for the day to spend some time with my grandparents with my brother while he was in town, so these are 2 pictures my brother took on our trip to Langdale.

Michael Kors top and Lapis Floral Skirt with Impo Heels.  Also added a Buffalo Belt from Winners, bracelet from Ardene's, Neon Punk glasses from Winners, and a Michael Antonio canvas bag from the World Shoe Association in Vegas

30 for 30 - Meet the 30

So I randomly came across a blog called 30 for 30 which is - pick 30 items from your wardrobe (shirts, skirts, shorts, pants, blazer even shoes) and repeat these 30 items only by mixing them up with accessories over the next 30 days.  I thought this was a pretty fun idea, so I thought I'd give it a try!

In case you are curious, this is the original blog I stumpled upon for the 30 for 30 http://www.aliciafashionista.blogspot.com/ and I am also following this one also http://missmelissa912.blogspot.com/

So Meet my 30!  I know the pictures arent the best, but you will see all of the items on me over the next 30 days!
