Spring is here!

Hello peoples!  Spring is finally here in Vancouver and its about time!  To celebrate some good weather, Ken & I took a drive over to Shannon Falls to soak up some sun, and check out some of mother natures beauty.

I also completed my first 2013 Glowbal passport at Trattoria!  I must say, they have the most amazing white wine sangria - and amazing burrata happy hour specials!

And thennnnnnn.... I decided I will try to attempt to complete a second passport in less than a week!  I had a book with an extra stamp from Coast, and went back to Trattoria for a late breakfast indulging in their $10 beer & burger combo (Roasted Butternut Squash Panini w/ caramelized onions, roasted garlic, mascarpone & pesto with salad & winter ale)

Then I headed over to Italian Kitchen for a late lunch to take on their friday $10 burger & a beer combo (chicken parmasean sandwhich, roasted cream of carrot soup, & winter ale).  I was still super full, so only had the soup & beer, and got the panini to go which Ken enjoyed coming home too.  I must say, that soup was too die for.  It was the best soup I have ever at a Glowbal restaurant.  TGIF everyone!

Passport Continues

Good morning ladies and gents.  I recently visited Coast to collect my passport stamp #5 with a fellow foodie Grace.  I started off with the most delicate, tasty scallop, and followed with their shrimp wrap lunch box.  They also let me sub my chowder, for fries - something I normally wouldn't do, but didn't feel like picking out all the pieces of bacon in my chowder.  It also came with salmon sashimi, on a bed of greens.

I also headed over to Society to collect passport stamp #6!  One more and I'm done!!!  I met up with my gf, and whle waiting I recieved a complimentary mac n cheese ball.  Together we also shared some of their happy hour half off dishes, such as the root vegetable nachos, coca cola wings, and poutine.  I asked for extra jalepenos for the root vegetable nachos, as I wanted them extra spicy.  However, the jalepenos are pickled in a sweet juice, which made an odd combination for my spicy nachos craving.  The other appys, I didnt really find too special - but the highlight has got to be the pizza I got to go.  It came loaded with huge cajun shrimp, chicken (which I subbed instead of pulled pork), chimichuri sauce, pineapple, red onions and lime juice.  I hadn't had pizza this good in a long time!

I also met up with some friends to watch the advance screening of The Croods at 10am, followed by brunch at our newly favorite Cafe Medina.  This place is famous for their lavender lattes, and waffles - so of course I had to order both!  With my waffles, I also had the milk chocolate lavender sauce, and the salted caramel sauce.  These were fantastic, and I especially loved everything lavender here.  My gf also ordered the lamb meatballs with raita, which came with focacia and humous.

Glowbal Passport - Glowbal Grill

Hello lovelies!  Today I passed the half way point in my Glowbal Passport!  So far I have done Black & Blue, Trattoria, and The Fish Shack - and now I've done Glowbal Grill!

My gf & I timed it, so we could take advantage of both their lunch menu, and their happy hour menu :)  We shared their calamari to start which is part of their happy hour menu - with a glass of prosecco.

I had their fish tacos lunch box, and my gf had their chicken parmasean lunch box (normally veal).  Hers was massive!  Now we dont need to eat for the rest of the day.

March Update

Hello Darlings!  Just a quick recap of my week in Vancouver :)

Started off with a beautiful seawall stroll, and brunch with my Ken at the Teahouse.

Also continued my Glowbal passport with a lunch foodie meetup with Grace at Italian Kitchen.  I had the most amazing vegetarian lasagne, and Grace had the prosciutto pizza.

Continued onto my 3rd passport stamp at the Fish Shack for their $10 snapper burger, fries AND a granville island winter ale.

Had a lovely Whitecaps game date night with Ken at The Ticket, and ordered a bunch of tapas.  Our fave was the walnut crusted goat cheese and Mussels.  I wasnt too much a fan of the spicy sambal.  It was priced more than the other tapas at $14, but wasnt much squid, and was a little dry.  Other than that, it was a wonderful time at the new former Players Chophouse.  Hope everyone had a wonderful week.

TGIF Happy Hour

Happy Friday everyone!

Friday started off for me visiting Glowbal Groups Black and Blue.  I havent decided if I am a fan or not, seen as though I had only been once before - which was a bad experience.  However, Glowbal Passport just started up - and I needed a B&B stamp.  Im also on a mission to explore more different happy hours in the city, and decided to check out Glowbals.  All locations offer 50% off all food M-F from 3-6pm, and $5 drink specials.  I had a glass of prosecco, the ahi tuna screamer, and dungeness crab stuffed portobelo.

Afterwards, my gfs and I headed over to Pink Elephant Thai!  This place reminds me of highschool, as the dj spins 90s R&B, that my gfs and I used to burn on our cds.

Pink E Thai also has happy hour & offers $4-$8 dishes, and $4 drinks.

I also tried friend banana with ice cream for the first time ever!  It was so good, and totally worth the wait.

Afterwards, we met up with some more friends and went over to The Met.. and then headed over to Guilt & Co to play some Jenga & listen to some live music.  Hope everyone had a great friday!  PS - im making a new section dedicated to happy hours here!  Check it out if you're in Vancouver looking for cheap drink/eats
